Job Description

Kreative Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer to work with our Government customer to deliver industry standard solutions that integrate with the current environment. The ideal candidate will have experience configuring, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting appliances, servers and other hardware infrastructure. An active DOD Clearance is required to apply for this role.

The Systems Engineer will operate out of a classified lab at the government site where he/she will be responsible for engineering, testing and deploying solutions per the program’s needs. These solutions must meet DOD security standards prior to deployment while optimizing performance and reliability. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture for the both the lab and production environment, installing and administrating systems, applications, and processes to ensure all issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner. The environment includes Linux and Microsoft-based (virtual and physical) servers and workstations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Engineering new solutions to meet programs requirements by planning and implementing IT enhancements and leading IT optimization projects.
  • Maintaining complex server enclaves, including establishing system scanning procedures, vulnerability management assessments, and active directory configurations.
  • Identifying and correcting hardware and software issues.
  • Responding to system administration, operations, and maintenance problems and developing re-work solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation of the environments to ensure that clear, concise and accurate information is readily available for incident resolution.
  • Lead working groups that providing technical direction for system administrators and Engineering groups.
  • Communicating with users and external support personnel regarding system outages and upgrades, and conferring with upper management regarding recommended resolution options.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Applying STIGs to Windows servers, Linux server and DNS (BIND) servers
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment
  • Configuration and administration of Server 2008R2, Server 2012R2, and Server 2016
  • Configuration and administration of Exchange 2010/2013
  • Configuration and administration of SCCM 2012 r2
  • Experience with enterprise Level patch management (WSUS/SCCM)
  • Configuration and administration of Large Scale AD DeploymentGroup Policies
  • Configuration and administration of VMware ESXi 6.0
  • Configuration and administration of Microsoft HyperV 2012
  • Configuration and administration of SAN technologies
  • Configuration and administration of Microsoft Certificate Server (PKI)
  • Experience with integrating DoD Public Key Infrastructure with Active Directory
  • Configuration and administration of Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012
  • Must have experience providing assistance to users and optimizing system operations
  • Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices including compliance with maintenance windows and change control procedures.
  • Must have experience in or familiarity with the following systems: Windows/Linux operating systems, and Networking: Switches, Routers, LANs & cabling.
  • Excellent written, oral communications and organizational skills.
  • Experience with MS Project, Power Point, Word, Excel and Visio.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S Citizen
  • Active “Secret” or “Top Secret” clearance
  • Must be able to pass a national background investigation

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years of professional experience or B.S. / B.A. in Computer Science or Information Technology (IT)
  • Active Security + (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days)
  • NIPRNet and SIPRNET Experience
  • Active Microsoft Administrator Certification (MCSA)
  • Active VMware certification is a plus
  • Must have an active U.S. Passport

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Design, test, install, integrate, and support migration strategies in support of a large DoD environment
  • Responsible for migrating future customer processing requirements into a Data Center processing environment in a manner consistent with present practices. These migration requirements must conform to the physical and logical infrastructure, security configurations such as access control lists and deny by default; and is to be integrated with the existing IA network.
  • Ensures all DoD polices and directives from the USCC are followed
  • Must provide results of customer deliverables in a monthly status report. Monthly status report shall include major milestones, activities, and risks/challenges.
  • Perform all other Information Technology duties as assigned.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Support the Kreative and Government program
  • Provide support in writing SOP, White Papers, Plans, and reports
  • Contribute to project work plans and schedules, working closely with management and internal
  • Communicate project status to minimize exposure and
  • Participate in regular status meetings with project
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors, stakeholders and team
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen stakeholder relationships.
  • Support the creating, updating and maintaining documents related to the RFP process
  • Exercises a high degree of professionalism and self-motivation using personal initiative to identify and recommend best
  • Demonstrates a continued commitment to professional education and industry best practices.
  • Support Kreative in growing the business and provide proposal support as needed
  • Performs all other network management duties as

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment
  • Planning and managing network device migration tasks.
  • Performing network device migrations. Knowledge of network decommission and installation tasks
  • Switching (Capacity Planning & VLAN’s)
  • Routing (OSPF, RIPv2, BGP)
  • WAN Technology (MPLS, VPLS, VPN)
  • Knowledge of interdependencies between devices supported by network and minimizing network outages
  • Knowledge of cable standards, port assignments and testing procedures.
