Increased cybersecurity risks are among one of many consequences caused by the shift to remote work. Key factors drive the cybersecurity risk implications in this new working environment. These include: increased cyberattacks, changing attack surfaces, and distracted workforces.
Organizations should keep these factors in mind when defining how to best mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Ensure that your users home Wi-Fi networks are properly secured with passwords and not left open.
- Ensure that your users are ONLY using secure home networks, and not working off of a public wi-fi network
- Consider the use of a VPN that can encrypt and protect all of your users traffic
- Establish a remote work policy that will make users aware of the expectations of them to protect their information while working remotely
